Students will choose one of these subjects | Students must choose a 1st, 2nd, 3rd , 4th and 5th choice. |
Where do I access the Microsoft Form from to support my child to choose option subjects?
The Microsoft Form will be emailed to parents/carers on Monday 7 March 2022
My child has submitted the form but we have realised we have made a mistake. What should we do?
Email contactus@bradford.trinitymat.org before the deadline for submission (Friday 18 March 2022) and a member of our team will correct this on the system.
What is the deadline to complete the Microsoft Form?
The deadline is Friday 18 March 2022
My child wants to study both History and Geography. Can they do this?
Yes they can. They need to make sure they put their first preference in their Humanities option choice. They then can put the second Humanities subject as one of their five choices from the other Option block.
Why have you said that there are certain combinations students cannot choose?
There are three combinations we have said that students cannot choose.
- History, Geography and Spanish – this is due to the time allocation for some of the option subjects and there will not be enough curriculum time to complete this combination of subjects
- Art and Photography or Performing Arts Acting and Dance – we want to ensure students have a broad curriculum to study to ensure they keep as many choices open to them when they leave Trinity Academy Bradford. If students study either of these combinations this narrows down the curriculum they will study.
Will my child work towards a qualification in PE?
No. Core PE is part of the curriculum in all year groups. Students will have one lesson per week of PE in Years 10 and 11.
If students wish to work towards a qualification in Sport then they should choose BTEC Sport as one of their choices.
Why does my child have to make five choices if they only have three options?
Whilst we will endeavour to ensure students study their three preferred choices we ask that all students put down an additional two choices in the event that we cannot timetable their first three choices.
If I have questions about the subject content of the options available, who can I ask?
Please refer to the guidance in the subject choices booklet or watch the subject promotional videos in this IAG section. Students can also speak to their subject teachers in the Academy. If you have further questions after having explored these options, please complete the Microsoft Form and a member of the curriculum team will either:
- Reply to you via email
- Contact you by phone
My child would like guidance about how their GCSE options link to their future study and career choices. Is there somewhere they can get this guidance?
If you have any questions relating to careers advice and guidance then you can book a meeting with our Connexions Careers Adviser. To do this please contact lwright@bradford.trinitymat.org.
